Los Angeles (SF Valley) based film and television composer seeks part-time music technology assistant. This is a part-time, PAID position (1-2 days/week) It requires a solid knowledge of the Macintosh OS, as well as GigaStudio, Digital Performer, and Pro-tools. Familiarity with the Mackie d8B, and the following applications: Finale, Sibelius, Quark Xpress, Filemaker Pro, Toast and iTunes is a big plus.
This position offers exposure to the behind-the-scenes world of a successful composer. Great team spirit and a positive attitude working in high-pressure, demanding situations is essential.
Whereas this is not specifically a position for someone with creative aspirations, it should be noted that over time any musical abilities you bring to the table, especially instrumental or vocal, will eventually almost certainly get used in studio. Good audio mixing/engineering skills are also valuable. Composition and sound design skills may also come into play at crunch time as well.
Assistant should also be willing to help out with administrative duties from time to time.
